I know I'm quite late with this post but I wanted to tell you all about my amazing weekend last weekend.
Yeah, I know....I should have told you on Monday....but the week was busy and got away from me - sorry about that!
It might still be winter outside my window, but inside my cozy home there are are now touches of spring everywhere.
I was blessed to celebrate yet another birthday this past weekend....plus it was St Patrick's Day....so there were celebrations all weekend long!
On Saturday morning I got a wonderful package in the mail from one of the sweetest blogger friends, Kris over at Junk Chic Cottage. Kris had a giveaway a short time back, and I was so lucky to be one of the winners of this super cute spring tote!
Just look at how cute that is! And Kris is so creative with her packaging, what a sweet surprise to open first thing Saturday morning.
I can't wait for a little spring to come our way on the mountain top but meanwhile this tote would brighten the bleakest day, without a doubt.
Thanks, Kris!
The Cyclamen, that was a recent gift from a dear friend, was elevated to a new level when I decided they would look adorable in a gift from another sweet blogger friend.
Doreen from Fox Den Rd brought this bright and cheerful watering can with some Lily bulbs inside, as well as some other very thoughtful gifts, when she visited last Spring. What a great visit that was, and one of the most gorgeous spring days.
Nothing like what's outside my window right now.
Later that day I had another surprise arrive....a gift my sister sent, which she knew I would love....because she's a regular visitor here on the blog.
Do you remember a while back I told you all about my obsession with this linen spray? Yup, she paid attention! Thanks, sissy....I love it!! I'm so lucky!
On Sunday morning I had another package to open. By the time I crawled out of bed, Sweetie had a gigantic wrapped box in the middle of the living room waiting for me.
I wish I had taken a photo of the box....but I was not quite awake yet, still a sleepy head.
Outside the box were two very sweet cards taped to the top....one from Sweetie, and one from the babies....of course.
The babies always know just the right card to buy....and just what to write inside it. They're so smart that way!
Inside the box was a variety of kitchen goodies....and you all know how much I love my kitchen goodies.
Sweetie went all out with a variety of items from one of my favorite companies, LeCreuset.
They are the makers of my big red pot that I use all the time and love soooooooo much, and I can't get enough of all their gorgeous and incredibly functional products.
I like my things to not only look good but stand up to a ton of use in my kitchen. LeCreuset fits the bill, no doubt.
Me thinks my sweetie wants me to keep cooking for him....and I'm happy to!
Later that day, my daughters arrived home with sweet gifts as well - I truly feel so spoiled and loved!
I have lots of flowers and plants to keep my Cyclamen company now and bring some spring into the house....yay!
And some French Rose to enjoy on the deck on a warm spring day. I'm already looking forward to sitting in the warm sunshine, enjoying a chilled glass of this beautiful wine.
I split the colorful mixed bouquet from my older daughter into two separate bouquets.
The tulips went into a little glazed pottery pitcher I bought many years ago at a farmers' market.
I just love the country simplicity of tulips in a pitcher.
The rest of the mixed bouquet went into a crystal vase for the dining room table.
I love the beauty of having flowers all over the house, brightening my days.
It truly is the little things, isn't it? Our local grocery never has nice bouquets, so I'm looking forward to having flowers in the garden to cut and bring indoors.
Soon....but not soon enough. Sigh.
The potted tulips from my younger daughter are sitting on the edge of the kitchen sink, making me smile every time I wash a dish.
My daughters know me so well....they also gifted me with a gift card to Lowes which I am already planning to use for some spring annuals whenever the weather allows. Thanks, Shanny and Frankie!
And Amanda stopped at my favorite nail salon to get me a gift certificate for a little pampering for Mommy....which I'll need after all the spring garden work, for sure.
Between all the thoughtful sweet gifts, cards, phone calls, Facebook messages, texts.....and a very special dinner Sunday night at a favorite local restaurant...I am feeling beyond blessed and oh so loved.
Thank you, sweet family and friends.
I love you all.
xo
Sounds like you made quite a haul with all those who love you, my gardening friend!

No blue skies today, MJ - nothing but drizzle and fog on the mountain top today, oh well at least the robins are back!
DeleteIt's always great catching up with you. Love all of your spring touches and I can tell you, spring is on the way. Winter missed us altogether here in my corner of the world, a fact that I am not happy about, as I do enjoy mild winters, but spring has sprung and that's that.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
I'm sure you've got tons of lovely flowers around your beautiful home, Dayle - we've got a ways to go before that happens here!

I posted a new to me author on your Facebook page, I think you will enjoy his books. Suspense, insight and descriptions of New York Mountains. http://www.johnverdon.net/pages/index.php
