If they are going to be on a patio you could use a heavier duty wood - up here on the deck they needed to be somewhat lightweight, but the lighter wood will surely rot more quickly. I also filled the box about 2/3 full with peat moss to keep them lighter than using straight potting soil. I added casters to the bottom of the boxes so they could be rolled out to clean under and behind them as needed. Even if they are not in the main course they will always make it into the salad dressing as I make a fresh garlic-herb vinaigrette regularly. Also love how you connected them with the trellis, plants climbing and the pot set in the middle with the bird feeder hanging. Very lovely. Next year I will be gardening in a courtyard and am collecting ideas! Thank you for sharing yours! By the way I love being bombarded with herb and garden pictures and ideas! I have rosemary, parsley dill, lemon balm and thyme and they are doing well also due to all of the rain showers followed by sunshine we have had. My lavender plant didn't make it through the winter so I was really sad about that cause it is my favorite! Will definitely try another one! I look forward to a later post about preserving them for winter use.SimplySingleSeniorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00292611917979746996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6737531804022285705.post-77955133418130037362016-07-07T16:43:41.641-04:002016-07-07T16:43:41.641-04:00You have a wonderful crop now...your hard work has...You have a wonderful crop now...your hard work has paid off.
