Despite the frigid temps outside, the sun was absolutely glorious this morning.
After giving up on sleep and stumbling out of my bedroom, the sight of all that sunshine put a spring in my step immediately.
It's not hard to imagine that spring is around the corner with sunshine like that....despite the temps and the snow covered ground.
The sun beams in through the front windows, and sends magic into various corners of the room.
Tiny dots of sunshine are scattered across the walls and ceiling from a crystal I have hung in the window.
The sunshine illuminates the amber glass lamp next to the sofa, filling it with soft light.
Back in the kitchen I spotted one of my glass knobs glowing like a magic crystal ball.
If only I could use it to predict the winning lottery numbers....but alas it doesn't possess that kind of magic.
I'm not the only one who was enjoying the magical mountain morning....
I hope your morning was as magical as ours!
OH that little blondie girl is so adorable - Your dogs are so loved and it shows. LOVE those knobs!! and the amber lamp base!!
ReplyDeleteShe's got so much personality stuffed into that tiny little body, Karen Ann - she cracks me up every day!! Those knobs were the first thing I bought for my home, the day my offer was accepted - clearance at Pottery Barn! I guessed on the number I'd need based on the photos I took, and had more than enough....so I changed the knobs on some of the dining room furniture also! I still to this day adore the heck out of them!
DeleteWhat a blessing sun shine is. I know that my mood changes on days that the sun is brilliantly shining.
ReplyDeleteIt makes a world of difference, Carol! No sunshine today - just frigid and snowy. The temps should be warmer this weekend, I'm looking forward to that....and the clocks changing! That's when it really feels like spring is on the way!
DeleteWe've had some sun the past two days, too and despite our frigid temps, seeing the sunshine was such a gift! It certainly beats the gloomy, gray days, doesn't it? How is your oldest pup doing these days?
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking, Melanie - she's pretty much deaf and nearly blind, and has real trouble going up the stairs. Plus she has accidents regularly. Skinny as can be, but yet still has a great appetite. We try to get her up the stairs but she has no interest, just turns back around and heads back to her bed in my daughter's room....where she spends most of the day sleeping. Poor sweet girl, she's 16 1/2 now....but the vet diagnosed her with cancer about 7 years ago so we're lucky to have had this extra time with her.
DeleteSo happy to see the sun shine! I love the "magical" knob!
ReplyDeleteThe sun moves around the kitchen throughout the day, Mari, illuminating the knobs one by one - I adore those knobs!
DeleteThose are lovely pictures! Oh how I wish it was sunny here! Your two pups are so sweet, they look like they really enjoy each other. I love your cushion with the deer on it, by the way! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThey really are the best of friends, Jenn! The deer pillow is a pillow cover from Pottery Barn, bought on clearance a couple of years ago.
DeletePretty shots of sunshine in your house. We have a sunny day here but it is 18 degrees!
ReplyDeleteIt's 18 here today also, Penny, but with a real-feel of -1 - it's a rotten, rotten day, nothing like the sunshine of yesterday!
DeleteI love the sparks of sunshine that come through the windows. I will literally find a spot to sit and soak it in when I can. Just like those pups! Which are cracking me up right now. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteLisa
They're funny little pups, aren't they, Lisa? I love the way Molly is looking at the Monkey in that first picture!
DeleteLovely morning, it is cold here too. We are hovering at 22 degrees this morning, with soft sunshine.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow here for the last while, but the sun is trying to come out again now, Carole - it's so pretty to see out my window, shining on the fresh snow!
DeleteI love the way the sun filters into your home! Those designs from the crystal are so beautiful and yes, magical! We have cold temps and sunshine here today and the sunshine definitely puts a spring in your step! The fur babies are just too cute!! Love and hugs!
ReplyDeleteMy furbabies make me laugh every single day, Benita! They are so spoiled, but isn't that what they deserve?
DeleteI have crystals hanging in my craft room and love seeing the dots on the walls when the sun shines. It is so cold here, but this weekend it will get in the 60s and than back to the 40s. I want Spring now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I want spring now, too, Betty....but we still have a ways to go here on the mountain top!
DeleteMonkey and Molly are just adorable. Buddy loves the sunshine coming in the windows too. Your house does look magical when the sun is shining. Even with our cold temps as long as the sun is out it makes it more bearable. Happy Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
So true, Kris - yesterday it was cold out, but the sun felt wonderful on my face when I was standing outside with a client!
DeleteAw, those two sweet silly dogs! I can't wait to plant!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Is anything coming up on your patio yet, Brenda? If not I imagine it won't be long!
DeleteWonderful photos of the sunshine coming through the house. Monkey and Molly were enjoying the sun warning them up. Dogs love the sun.
ReplyDeleteLoved all the spots from the crystal. The ceiling looked like tiny stars. I'm a sun person to many grey days and I turn into a human slug
Cindy
I'm thinking of getting another crystal for another window to make even more magic, Cindy! Amazon has them pretty cheap!
DeleteDebbie, I always tell Ted that I can endure the cold if the sun shines. Today it was sunny and super cold. I could feel the wind thru my clothes going to the mail box. Oh hurry Spring. LOL. I loved the little sparkles thru out your house. Dogs and cats love the warmth of the sun coming thru windows. Stay war. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteIt was brutal here yesterday also, Susie - today it's really cold but no wind, which makes a huge difference. Looking forward to warmer temps starting tomorrow!! xo
DeleteThe sun is feeling so much warmer when we see it; a sure sign that spring is coming. We'll be happy to get rid of all the ice that's still hanging in here. I love the pictures of your puppies - especially that last one where they seem to be posing for a formal portrait.
ReplyDeleteThey really do like they are posing, don't they, Sue!! Silly little rascals! I'll be glad to have all my paths clear of snow, and will be hoping they stay that way....it would be nice to at least get out and cut back all the old growth in the garden and start early spring clean up!
DeleteOh, that sunshine is glorious! Such a symbol of hope when the weather is cold and everything is frozen.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right, Leigh - a symbol of hope that puts a spring in our step!
DeleteThose pup pictures are daring and I adore all the sunny sparkles in your charming home. C'mon spring!!
ReplyDeleteIt's on the way, Kim - the sun is getting warmer!!! Tomorrow we'll actually be in the 40's up here, woo hoo!!
DeleteI could almost feel the warmth of the sun as I read your post. Love the pics of the pups!
ReplyDeleteMolly is such a little poser, Amy! We have about a million pictures of her in varying stages of goofiness!
DeleteVery pretty pictures! Love the morning sunshine, everything looks peaceful and calm! Love the sweet doggie pictures too!
ReplyDeleteIt's tough to leave the house on days like that to head to the office, Debbi!
DeleteP.S.---LOVE THOSE GLASS KNOBS!!!
ReplyDeleteME TOO!!!! :)
DeleteYour pups are so cute in the sunshine, fun brilliant touches!
ReplyDeleteThank you! They find a little sun puddle every morning and soak it all up while I'm getting ready for work.
DeleteOH the sunshine, how we love it! In these months with gray and white color schemes, the sun is seen so little, and how beautiful it is when it comes out! I loved seeing all the splatters of light on your walls, and especially the little knob! Pure joy for sure, but those two little darlings were really soaking it up! Enjoyed your sunlit morning with you :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marilyn! My little darlings sure do love to lounge in the sunshine!
