Monday morning rolls around far too soon! It seems it was just Friday and I'm doing the happy dance all over the place and then.......
Monday. Uggghhh.
Monday is a two-cup-of-coffee morning.
It was a busy weekend. They always seem to be, don't they?
Saturday morning my daughter and I headed off for the local farmers' market - the last one of the season, which is so very sad!!
My little pack mule does a great job following me around with the eco-totes full of goodies!! It was a cold, cold morning and the vendors were all happy to pack up and go to their warm cozy homes at the end of the market.
Saturday afternoon was spent at the office and then off to the supermarket, picking up those items I couldn't get at the farmers' market.
Sunday we were in the car most of the day, travelling two hours south to visit my sweetie's parents and then back up the mountain again. It's always so wonderful to see them....I wish they lived closer so we could spend more time together!
The foliage was beautiful on our drive - it was amazing to see the difference in foliage as we traveled South.
But now it's Monday. And I didn't get a single thing done around my house this weekend!
The leaves are piled up on the deck and don't even talk to me about the leaves in the garden!
This was a week ago. Most of the leaves on that tree are now also on the ground. Yikes.
There are a bunch of flowerpots with dead plants in them from the first big frost.
The perennials need to be cut back.
I still haven't frozen the herbs I harvested last weekend.
The house needs a good deep clean.
And I need a clone.
Do you ever feel really overwhelmed? Like there aren't enough hours in the day?
How do you handle it? What works for you?
I love that first picture mom, the lighting and the steam coming out, so pretty. I'm gonna be soooo sad when all the leaves fall off, they are so beautiful. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThey'll be back, honey! It's the circle of life, remember? :) xoxox
DeleteYes i always feel overwhelmed! i get up at 5:30, blog, check emails, tend to dogs, leave for work at 7 - get home by 4 then cook and clean and try to blog more and spent time with the dogs . oh and my boyfriend too. AHHHHHHH
ReplyDeleteWe truly are sometimes like Wonder Woman, aren't we? Oh wait, you're too young for that show!! :)
DeleteI'm somewhat lucky, somewhat unlucky. I'm on disability at age 50 so I can be a little picky , choosey on what and when I do what ;) I actually would like to have a significant other to rake the leave's ,clean the gutters, put the lawn furniture away and change the furnace filter's. (I just know there's a spider or two waiting to crawl on me, ughhhh) I guess I do have a lot of thing's to do !!! Your pics were beautiful !!! It was the "peak weekend " for leave's here in Holmes Co,Ohio last weekend, beautiful also :) Enjoy your week, Saturday will be back around soon. Hug's TT
ReplyDeleteI am lucky to have a sweet man in my life who comes over and tackles projects while I'm at work - it's always the best feeling when I get home and find his surprises! Thanks for your visit, Tammy, and your kind words!
DeleteBeautiful photos. Our leaves are finally starting to really change. Unfortunately the rain is bringing them down. I have been very overwhelmed this morning, but got at least one of the problems taken care of so feeling a little more relaxed. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by, Laura! You wouldn't believe the difference in that big tree since I took that photo....the leaves are all just about gone! Our trees are mostly bare around here at this point. Early this year!!!
DeleteWhat a wonderful weekend..spending time with family and doing fun things. Gorgeous photos!! And yes, we've discussed the overwhelming list of things to do on my blog...but it's nice to sit back and enjoy the beautiful colors of fall...and yes, even the cold...I'm a cold weather person and live in the south...how did that happen?!? Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteYou can always come visit your blogging friends like me in the north if you need a 'cold' fix, Benita - you're always welcome and my guest room is always ready!!!
DeleteAlthough when I was younger I used to freak out over unfinished tasks, now that I'm older my advice is this: Relax! Breathe deeply! Remember the fun you had with your daughter! Remember the beauty of the leaves up and down the mountain. Then move on with what must be done. There will also be chores and cleaning; there may not be drives up and down the mountain quite like that one!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandy - you are so right!!!!! I can only do what I can do.....and those beautiful moments spent with loved ones are so fleeting. Thanks for your visit - I always love meeting new blog friends!!
DeleteLove the Fall photos. Fall is such a lovely time of year. Sometimes I do wonder where the time goes...Thank you for your sweet comment about us losing our dear Lacy dog on Brenda's blog.
ReplyDeleteOh, Linda, it's so hard losing a dear pet....I truly sympathize with you. I remember well the pain and the hole it leaves in your life and heart. Big hugs xo
DeleteBeautiful cup. Gorgeous daughter... love her coat!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! She'll be glad t hear that - she loves that coat!
DeleteI do get overwhelmed, but since I don't have a 9-5 job, it's for different reasons. At the end of the season, I usually do a clean up of the garden and cut everything back. But I'm going to research some things because I read somewhere that if you leave some foliage/leaves behind, birds are able to find cover. And I love my birds!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I agree with that, especially on your patio. They need a place to hide. In my garden they will still have loads of places to hide with all the evergreens.
DeleteI know you can't believe this but some of us are jealous. I am tired of being hot all the time. Lol.
ReplyDeleteHaha I'm hot a lot of the time also but for different reasons lol!!!!
DeleteI think your weekend sounds lovely. Mine are never long enough!!
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely, Kim! Without a doubt! I just need to add a day onto it.....or two! How about a 3 day workweek and 4 day weekend? That would be perfect!!
DeleteGorgeous countryside, even though you have a bundle of leaves I would trade my brown Texas ones for your colorful display-I would even gather them up!
ReplyDeleteFeel free to grab a rake, Jemma!!! Funny enough, when I got home from work on Monday after posting this my sweetie had been at my house that day gathering leaves - and he hadn't even seen my post! What a honey....I might have to keep him!
