So, remember I told you all about my awkward living room situation a while back?
I have been struggling for nearly two years to figure out a coffee table for the space.
I hemmed and hawed and googled and searched and tried out various things from around my house, finally settling on this wicker trunk.
But I'm still not totally sold. It's just such an awkward room.
I love my little house dearly, it's so cozy, but I do envy those folks who have the 'perfect' living room layout.
Oh well, I do the best with what I have.
Anyway, today in my inbox these babies popped up on my daily Décor Steals email.
Round Nesting Tables |
I immediately clicked through to find out more - I love the style and this might just work!
After I drooled over the photos for a little bit, I sent the link to my daughters to see what they thought.

The girls were pretty excited, they agree that this just might be the answer to our dilemma!

I love the distressed metal and the weathered wood tops.
Let's face it, my house is very lived in, and after a while everything ends up either distressed or weathered.
Via |
The metal seems to have a nice patina that will play well with some of the other elements in the room.
And I love the fact that the tables are see through, and can easily be moved out of the way or over next to the swivel chairs, as needed.
My living room is never going to have the perfect layout, that's for sure.

But maybe these little nesting tables are the answer I've been looking for?
And if not, I can either ship them back or use them elsewhere in the house.
What do you think?
The tables are very cute. I like them being round, no sharp corners. :):) I like you home's decor. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susie! Yes, same here....I don't do well with sharp corners!
DeleteI think they might work better than the wicker trunk, which seems to take up so much visual space with its shape.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I agree, Brenda. I just hope I can adjust to them when they arrive. The older I get, the more I hate change!
DeleteYeah! I think you've found the solution and I hope they work out as planned. Don't you just love it when the answer falls in your lap? Something popped up on Pinterest today that has me ready to click the buy button, too. I do love the weathered wood and metal mix on those occasional tables, and the size, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing we may read about your new purchase on your blog? I'm hoping!!
DeleteI like these! I agree with Brenda that it looks like they'll work better than the wicker trunk. I hear ya on the awkward living room layout dilemma though...I have the same situation here. The layout of my LR drives me nuts!
ReplyDeleteHa ha Melanie I'm glad I'm not the only one! Misery loves company you know!
DeleteI follow the thought of - as long as whoever is sitting on a chair or sofa has a place to put a glass, who needs a coffee table? A table between the chairs and a set of nesting tables next to the sofa that can be brought out when extra table space is needed, would do the trick.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to find a table I can put between the chairs, because they swivel. No doubt someone would have a cup of coffee on the table and then swivel around and knock the whole table over! I keep thinking perhaps a spool shaped table may work, but no luck finding the right one yet.
DeleteBeautiful! I think they'd be beautiful in the room.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim! They are definitely 'different' for me, I tend to go with more old school things, but here's hoping!
DeleteThey look like they would work well in your situation. I love the shape, it's so unexpected!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Daisy! They are taking me out of my comfort zone, but I'm hoping I love them when they arrive.
DeleteThis could be the perfect answer.
ReplyDeleteI truly hope so, Marty!
DeleteI love the look of weathered wood and distressed metal - a bit like me! Haha. But seriously, these are nice and may fit just right. It's certainly worth a try!
ReplyDeleteAnd me, Vickie!! :) I'm a bit weathered and distressed as well!!
DeleteI think these will be perfect. The roundness and the openness will be nice in that space.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Hugs,
Kris
Thanks, Kris! I'm really hoping these will be the last piece of the puzzle in that room.
DeleteI think these would be a very good choice. If you don't like them in the living room, they would go just about anywhere, either together or singly. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same, Donna - I can even use them as stands for some of my many plants.
DeleteDeb, I love them and I'm sure they'll look great. The fact that you can kind of see through them won't make your room crowded looking. It will give it a more open space. Excited to see photos once the arrive.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to wait a while, Carol - Decor Steals is great but their shipping takes FOREVER!!!
DeleteI think those tables will be right at home in your living room Debbie!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right, Karen!
DeleteThose do look like the perfect solution. The fact that they are see through will make them take up less space visually. Sometimes that's really helpful. Did you order them?
ReplyDeleteI did, Stacey! I took a chance!!
DeleteYour furniture in the living room is lovely. The coffee table issue is a hard call. Love your house! ( from covenantfarmblog.wordpress.com)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carol! I love my house also....even with my weird living room layout!
DeleteI think we're all agreed that these would be a good choice!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have room for a coffee table here either. I have a wonderful one my father made out of a cedar water tank from his nursery that is now under my bed, legs off, because there's no room for it. But I can't bring myself to get rid of it and keep thinking of a way to repurpose it on the porch.
I know you'll find a way to reuse something you love so much, Dewena. That was the same with me and my Big Green Monster. It always held dishes....but didn't fit anywhere in my dining or living room, so now it's in the guest room and holds linens. And I love it there!!
DeleteI really like those tables! And since you have your sofa and chairs in an "L-shape" the round shape of these tables might be a good fit. Our new living room space is going to be bizarre also. Soooo, go ahead and order these, send pics and then it might give me a good idea on how to fix our living space! :-) Love and hugs!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how you settle into your new home, Benita....hopefully for a long, long time!!
DeleteI think they're what you've been looking for and they'd fit in perfectly with your things :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what's going on with my stupid blog. You and one other gal has told me they can't comment, but I don't know what the problem is. It's driving me nuts, even more than I am LOL
Anyway, at least I can comment on your blog ;)
xo,
rue
I've had that problem with a couple of other blogs, too, Rue - it does the same thing, where it doesn't 'recognize' me and won't let me comment. It's so strange!!
DeleteThey look like they will work and also be very versatile if you decide not to use them as coffee tables. Any way you use them and decorate , your home is lovely and you're able to create a lovely and cozy home.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathy! I love to 'nest' and I always have!
DeleteThry look very nice and i hope you ordered them! Are yall in the path of that big snowstorm they are talking about? If so-- stay safe and warm!! Perfect fireplace weather!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!! We are in the midst of a blizzard today, and expecting up to 30 inches of snow. Yikes!! I don't think we're ever going to see spring!!
DeleteI am so glad that you ordered them! I love that they are so light and airy, a fabulous solution to your warm, cozy and pretty home!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jemma
I sure hope so, Jemma!! And thank you, sweet friend!!
DeleteJust get them!!!!
ReplyDeleteLisa
Done!!! :)
DeleteLove these tables!
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for your warm and heartfelt comments.
I wanted to let you know that I am nearing the end of my college experience and am currently doing a 7-week internship at a museum as a requirement for graduation. It is an interesting experience to be sure.
I must admit that I am struggling to try and manage my time and make sure my family's needs are met. Sadly, this leaves little time left for visiting my favorite people in the world and their fabulous blogs. I hope you'll have patience with me. Thankfully, this time won't last forever and I will soon, once again, be able to see all the wonderful things you are doing.
May glorious weather and lovely flowers put a spring in your step,
Laura
Congratulations to you, Laura, how wonderful for you! I completely understand being too busy to bounce around blogland.....I have those times as well, and then I'll binge-bounce and check out what everyone's been up to in one day!
DeleteThey would be perfect, I think! I like the openness of them, and the wooden top too, where you could set a drink on them. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for them to arrive, but I know they will take forever to get here, booooo!
