First of all, I'd like to wish you all a happy New Year....and a happy New Decade!! There was much sadness and loss in our family this past decade, so I'm not sad to put it behind me. Wishing you all much happiness in 2020!
Now, I have something very cool to share with you all today....are you ready?
A while back I was contacted by Winnie's Picks, in a request for a collaboration. I wasn't quite sure, as I had never heard of them....but I was intrigued and checked out their site.
And my answer was a resounding YES I'd LOVE to collaborate with you!
They have so many wonderful ready-to-paint canvases, or they can create a custom canvas from a photo. What a fabulous gift idea!
Which is exactly why I had to wait to share this with you.....I sent them a photo of my daughter's new house, and they sent back a wonderful canvas with all the paints and brushes needed for my daughter and her sweetie to create a masterpiece of their own! They loved such a thoughtful gift for Christmas, and I can't wait to see the finished product!
Check out some of their ready-to-paint canvases - these are just a few that caught my eye:

Just look how lovely this is! I could totally see myself sitting by my fire on a snowy winter's day immersing myself in this gorgeous paint by number!

How about this wonderful Christmas village? Wouldn't it be wonderful to display your own work of art year after year with your holiday decor?
Via |
This was the first one that captured my attention....Central Park in Autumn. I am always drawn to cityscapes and landscapes....I love the idea of surrounding myself with art that depicts beautiful scenery, transporting me to another place if only for a moment.

This gorgeous scene reminds me of the Thomas Kinkade print I have in my living room....I adore that print, and it's extra special as it was a gift from my parents. The scene is just so serene, I can picture myself in that little cabin, by a cozy fire.

Less serene but still lovely, this view of Big Ben on a rainy night in London is heavenly.

This little cabin in the woods is like something right of a fairy tale!

If landscapes and cityscapes aren't your thing, there are lots of other options to choose from! I love this robin on a spring branch....the robins are always such a welcome sight after our long winters, and they hold a special place in my heart.

I'm lucky enough to have blue jays outside my window all year long, but this picture of a blue jay on a gorgeous pink peony reminds me of the wonderful peony bush at the bottom of my garden steps....oh how I miss my garden in winter!
Via |
Any of you gardeners out there would love their florals....I've always been a big fan of daisies, so this one caught my eye....aren't daisies just the epitome of summer?
Via |
My mom would love this one....she seems so peaceful standing there gazing out at the ocean, doesn't she?
I truly wish I had more free time to indulge in so many of these paint by number kits. How peaceful it would be to sit and relax, watching a painting come to life day by day. I'd be so proud to hang up something I did myself....especially since there's not a chance I would ever be able to paint something like this if it wasn't a paint by number! Plus they are very reasonably priced, so really a perfect gift, either for yourself or a loved one!
Which is your favorite? Are you a landscape/cityscape person like me?
Check out Winnie's Picks and find your favorite!!
I love Winnie's Picks...I did of of my pup that turned out so well! Fun and relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I had never heard of them! I guess I wasn't in the market for a paint by number so it never popped up!
DeleteI love them all! I can definitely see why you were thrilled to collaborate. Going to take a peek at their offerings!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year,
Jemma
I could totally see you mastering one of these, Jemma!
DeleteOh, I've recently started doing these and they're wonderful! Very relaxing for sure...Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou did the one with the two ballerinas, Kim, and I was amazed at how perfect it turned out....well not really as everything you do turns out perfectly, but I was awestruck!
DeleteI have a fondness for rainy city scenes and the London street scene steals my heart. I can understand that these are becoming so popular again. I hope you will be able to post the picture of your daughter's house when it is finished!
ReplyDeleteI don't know when they will get around to it, or if they have even started it, but I'd love to post it when it's finished Dewena!
DeleteI have always lovex pictures of rain in a big city. I love rainy days. These look so nice. I will have to check out their prices and see what is possible. I have painted paint by number on canvas a couple years ago when My DIL gifted me one. Hope to see the one your daughter paints of her home. Happy New Year, betsy
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you also Betsy! I think it would be so relaxing to work on one of these paintings!
DeleteThose are all lovely. Have a wonderful 2020!
ReplyDeleteAn artist such as yourself does not need a paint by number, Penny, but for us folks who don't have an artistic bone in our bodies they sure would be helpful!!
DeleteHi Deb,
ReplyDeleteI have seen these kits and they really seem easy and so pretty after you paint them. Love the women by the sea. Happy New Year.
xoxo
I didn't see any angels for you, Kris, sorry!
DeleteWow, paint-by-number paintings have come a long way from when I was a girl. My parents painted some and I did too. Looking forward to seeing the painting of your daughter's house. What fun!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful 2020 ~ FlowerLady
They sure have, Lorraine - it's amazing how gorgeous these are! Happy New Year to you!!
DeleteAll of these are beautiful. My favorites are the log cabin and the lady by the sea. They captivate me.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year
Cindy
I love peaceful images that transport me to another place, Cindy! Happy New Year to you!
DeleteHow fun! And what a great gift to your daughter, one of her new house! Thanks for sharing this with us, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have the time to tackle a few of these, Jean!
DeletePS Debbie, when you left a comment on my blog the last time, I noticed that clicking on your name (which should lead a person to your blog) led to your Blogger profile that had no link to your blog. Thought you'd want to know!
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know, Jean - that's so strange, I just checked my profile in Blogger and my site is on there....weird and I don't know what to do to fix it!
DeleteBeautiful paint by number pictures but I dare not take on any more hobbies! Happy New Year to you! Nancy
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're busy enough as it is, Nancy, without taking on any more hobbies!
DeleteI have always loved a painting that makes me want to escape into it. That's why I'm drawn to Thomas Kincade. What a lovely gift idea!
ReplyDeleteSame!! I have two of his paintings - one a cabin on a lake with mountains in the background and one a London cafe....I adore both!
DeleteHappy New Year to you Debbie! What a fun collaboration with these paint-by-number canvases, they are just gorgeous! The scenes truly do remind me of Thomas Kincaid's work! Just so full of light, and beauty. It will be so neat to see how your daughter's paint-by-number turns out! Have you thought of doing one for your home? I think it would be stunning :) Many blessings to you :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to do one for my home, Marilyn - I'm just not sure I have the time at the moment! But yes, some day I do plan to do one. I think they're just lovely!
DeleteWhat a fun idea, I've never heard of Winnie's Picks. I love that you could turn a photo of your daughter's house into a paint-by-numbers. Really a fun gift idea, and the possibilities are endless.
ReplyDeletePerfect gift for anyone who likes crafts, Heidi! My daughter loves adult coloring books so I'm hoping she'll love this....heaven knows how long it will take her to get to it though!
