Glorious Summer Weekends

The work week seems to take forever, dragging along, but finally it's the weekend - time for the happy dance!

There are just certain joys to the weekend that are unparalleled.

Waking up slowly and leisurely - no alarm clocks, no deadlines. Just sweet, sunny mornings and the sound of birdsong in the trees.

Having the time to start my mornings by making and enjoying a great cup of cappuccino.

Gathering the family around the dining room table for a traditional Irish breakfast.

Napping in a sun puddle amid a few favorite toys. I think she wore herself out!

Waking up refreshed and ready to play again - squeak, squeak - come play!

Time for another nap, this time the toy comes, too!

Morning sunshine streaming through the curtains in my cozy dining room.

Puttering around my little country kitchen, cooking up meals for the people I love.

We all know who really runs the show around here - these two little rascals.

"Let me in, let me out, feed me, give me a cookie, I want to play Chuck It"....it never ends on the weekends!

My little furbabies are just as much part of my family as my daughters are.

I am so glad I invested in nice furniture for my pups - they really seem to enjoy it! :)

The weird little Monkey loves spending extra time out on the deck on the weekends when we are home. Fortunately, it's gated, so I can leave her out there without worrying about her.

And for me? Weekend evenings by the fire pit are pure heaven.

I wouldn't trade my simple country life for anything in the world.

Happy Weekend, Friends!

    1. Ha ha yes, usually - although right now they are all tuckered out and sleeping next to me in the living room! My old girl is snoring in her bed behind my chair, and the little monkey is cuddled up on top of a pillow on the chair across from me!

    1. Thanks so much, Laurie! The deck was a big selling point for me - I knew I could do so much with it! It's strange, the previous owners had nothing out there but a couple of lounge chairs - they certainly weren't taking advantage of it, that's for sure!
