Top Posts of 2018

I'm seeing this all over blogland right now, folks are posting their top posts of the year, and I thought, hey why not!

I went through all my 2018 posts, and these are the five that got the most traffic - honestly, it's still amazing to me that so many of my amazing readers turn out daily to find out what's happening in my  little mountain top home - thank you from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate every one of you!

So here are the posts you loved the most in 2018:

Number 5:

I shared a variety of spaces that make me go oooh and ahhhh, and many of you felt the same way!

Number 4:

I posted pictures of phase 1 of what was to become Papa's Garden. That was a lot of back breaking work, but even in the dead of winter it still pleases me to no end to look out my bedroom window and see my sweet garden cottage all dressed up!

Number 3:

I take you through my essential oil journey in this post, which began 25+ years ago in a small waterfront village on Long Island.

Number 2:

Winter is long up here on the mountain top, so there's no use in starting to look forward to spring right after the holidays, as many do in other climates. Up here, we learn to settle in and enjoy cozy nights at home by the fire.

And the Number 1 Post for 2018:

My journey was a long and painful one, and I never wish to go through it again, but I landed on the other side in a place of peace. I do hope my story inspires some others to find their strength in times of sadness, to bring them to a place where they can find their own peace.

Thank you for all your visits and sweet comments in 2018 - I read and respond to each of them, and cherish all the many friendships I've made through this little blog of mine!

Here's wishing you all peace and joy in 2019! Cheers!

    1. Get that hubby of yours to build you one, Lisa! Actually they have cute pre-fab ones also that you could dress up. Mine needs a good cleaning out at the moment, it's like a bomb hit it inside! Some nice day I'll spend time out there getting it ready for spring....perhaps when I get that clone!

  4. I love all your posts so much I could never pick just one! ha ha LOl Love all these pictures of your warm and cozy home. I especially enjoy the pet posts and your recipe/cooking/canning/harvesting posts and YOUR GARDEN POSTS! I liked reading about how you got your solar panels too, and all about your Daddy's memorial garden, and the butterflies. Happy happy new year, my friend!

    1. You're so sweet, Debbi!! I got a little sad looking back at my beautiful garden, since everything is frozen solid around here now...but I know before long I'll be starting the cycle all over again, with the seeds in my utility room.

  5. I read your Number 1 Post for 2018 first. What a strong and brave woman you were to take yourself and your daughters out of that situation and build a new life. I also left my sweet but alcoholic husband over 25 years ago. We were living in New York City at the time and my daughter was only 2. My parents opened their home to us until I got on my feet. I don't know if I would have had the courage to leave without their support. My ex was able to stop drinking and turn his life around, and he and my daughter are working on building their relationship (which I know is very important to her.) Unfortunately, I think there are many, many women in situations like this. Well, now I have to read your other favorites for the year as I am a relatively new reader and they are new to me!

    1. Thank you, Sue, it was an extremely difficult time in my life, and I never want to be in that position again, that's for sure. I'm proud of you for doing what you had to do, for both you and your daughter...I'm sure you are both better off for it. Bravo to you!

Everyone is so very nice, supportive and loving - a great community of women (I don't have that many male readers, I don't think...LOL) I'm always surprised by which of my posts everyone likes the most. Some of the ones I've written and don't like have been favorites! I love your list! Love and hugs!
