The Ice Storm
Hello again friends, and welcome to February!
We had one heck of an ice storm last night, and I woke to a winter wonderland indeed! It's certainly beautiful to look out at it, but extremely dangerous for travel, and once more I am ever so grateful that I now work from home full time. We had a layer of thick ice covered with sleet and there's more heading our way all day today. It's the perfect day to cozy up by the fire indeed.

Comfort Food For Frigid Nights
Hi Friends, can you believe I'm back again so soon? I'm going to try to be better about posting this year....now that I have settled into a routine with working from home and I know it's for the foreseeable future.

Hello From The MountainTop!
Hello at long last from the frigid mountaintop!! It's been eons since I've posted anything on here, I can't believe how the months have flown by. I'm sorry I've been away so long - every day I think about you all and plan to put up a post, and then the days/weeks/months slip by once again.

Cozying Up For Winter
It's been brutally cold on the mountain top lately....yesterday I'm pretty sure my contact lenses froze to my eyeballs the second I stepped out the door.
Those of you in warmer states probably don't understand, but we do get used to the frigid winters....and we learn to embrace winter on the mountain top.

Winter Lingers On
Winter lingers on here on the Mountain Top, that's nothing new.
We are in the midst of yet another snowstorm, with about 6 inches of snow expected.
Not surprising as it's still February...winter isn't nearly done with us yet.

The Garden, Then & Now
We got hit with a whopper of a storm this week, and the snow is still coming down. This evening the temperatures will plummet to -10 Fahrenheit, and will remain frigid for the next three days.
Brrrrrrrr! It's only January and my daughter announced today that she's so OVER winter!

Sunshine, Pups, and Amaryllis Tips
After a couple of brutally cold days the temps today have finally warmed up to 20 degrees, which feels like a tropical heat wave!
The sun shining through the windows was absolutely glorious, the kind that immediately puts a spring in your step!

Frigid Frosty Mornings
Well, we survived the big snowstorm this weekend, and despite all the hype we barely got a foot of snow.

My Warm & Welcoming Home
It's been brutally cold on the mountain top the past week, the kind of weather that sends a chill straight through to your bones.
The moon has been bright in the evenings, shining down on the snow, giving an ethereal glow to the landscape.

What A Glorious Morning!
We've had a lot of snow up on the mountain top for this early in the season.
When it's not snowing, it seems to be cloudy and threatening snow.
Yesterday it was a mixed bag of tricks - rain, sleet, snow, ice. You name it, we got it.

Grateful, Thankful, Blessed
It's hard to believe it's only November and we've had snow more than once already!
Last Thursday's storm dumped over a foot of snow on our little mountain top.

The Garden In Mid April
This past weekend I was bound and determined to finally get out in the garden and do some spring cleanup.
The weather has been against me every single weekend - any time I had a day at home to do what I needed to do it was snowing or raining.
Grrrrrrrrr. Enough already!

Winter Lingers On....And A Very Close Call
All over blogland and Instagram I see lovely photos of flowers, sunshine, and spring.
Meanwhile, here on the mountain top, we are still buried in snow and ice.

Finding A Little Summer Amidst The Snow
As you know, we got a whopper of a storm last week, and another on Thursday, which means we will not see grass for quite some time.
Le sigh.
However, I figured out a way to bring a little summer into these winter days - and it was easy peasy, my favorite!

Winter Storm Riley
We had quite the Nor'easter this past weekend! Winter Storm Riley settled over the mountain top and dumped 3+ FEET of snow!
The entire mountain top as well as many neighboring villages were without power for 30+ hours, and some areas are still waiting for power to be restored.

Embracing Winter On The MountainTop
All over blogland and on Instagram I'm seeing lovely photos of spring flowers and posts about spring dreams.
Up here on the Mountain Top, I know we've got a good two months or more left of winter, so there's really no point in getting too excited about spring just yet!
The best thing to do is to settle in and embrace what's left of winter.
I mean, really - what else can you do?

An Absence Of Color
I can't believe it's been TWO weeks since I was able to get a post up! I think since I started blogging this is the first time I've gone that long without checking in!
My office mate is on medical leave at the moment, which means I've been taking over a lot of what he does to keep things running smoothly until his return.
Which equates to me being busier than ever right now!
