It seems that spring has at long last made its way to the mountaintop - happy days indeed! We are not out of the woods yet, but our last snowfall has melted and soon the trees will be leafing out. Is there ever a more beautiful sight than the soft green flush of trees in springtime?

Hi Friends, can you believe I'm back again so soon? I'm going to try to be better about posting this year....now that I have settled into a routine with working from home and I know it's for the foreseeable future.

Spring Is Sneaking In Slowly On The Mountain Top
Hello to all my wonderful readers who are still hanging in there after all these months!
It's amazing how quickly time flies by, even when working from home doing the same thing day after day.

Hello From The MountainTop!
Hello at long last from the frigid mountaintop!! It's been eons since I've posted anything on here, I can't believe how the months have flown by. I'm sorry I've been away so long - every day I think about you all and plan to put up a post, and then the days/weeks/months slip by once again.

My 2020 Seed Order
I finally got around to doing a seed inventory, and it doesn't appear that I need to order any veggie seeds at all - I'm well stocked!
However, recently Park Seed had a 10 for $10 sale, where select seed packets were on sale for just $1 each!
You know I couldn't let that one go by, don't you?

The Veggie Garden in July
Remember a thousand years ago when I started a bazillion seeds in my lower level?
Well guess what....it was all worth it!
Check out the veggie garden, it's a jungle!

The Garden (Jungle!) On This Summer Solstice
Like much of the country, we have had rain, rain, and more rain!
It's better than drought conditions, for sure.....and the gardens appreciate it.

The Garden In Late May
Like much of the country, we have had soooooo much rain this spring, whew sometimes I thought it would never stop!
But lo and behold, this morning I awoke to sunshine and blue skies, so what do you think I did?
I grabbed my camera, that's what!

Waiting Impatiently For Spring
We've had some lovely warmer days on the mountain top recently, which have me more than ready to welcome spring with wide open arms.
But alas, the cold weather is heading our way once more, and I must try to be patient.
Patience is not my strong suit.

Spring Has Sprung!
Spring has sprung in the mountains and I'm beyond happy!!
Don't get me wrong...I'm sore as heck. With Spring comes a ton of Spring cleanup, which I've been doing non-stop on the weekends....but I'm deliriously happy none the less!

Bits & Bobs...And An Update
We are still waiting for spring to arrive to the mountain top...as a matter of fact just a few minutes ago it was snowing.
Of course it was....that's because Mother Nature knows I wanted to get out in the garden tomorrow and get some spring cleanup done!

Planning My Spring Garden
Every year around this time I start planning my spring garden.
I guess it helps me get through the long winters around here!
I know I have a long time to wait, but I can at least start placing orders for what I need, and any plants I want to add to the garden. Because, even though my garden is bursting with color, I still love to add something new each year!

Spring Dreaming Despite A Major Snowstorm
We are in for a WHOPPER of a snowstorm this weekend - latest prediction says 14 - 20 inches, but possibly up to 28 inches.
Whew, oh boy, I'm going to be sore after all that shoveling!!
Meanwhile, my mind is already starting to plan my spring garden.

The Most Fabulous Chicken Pot Pie
The other night I roasted a whole chicken, Ina Garten style.
I seriously think her recipe for roast chicken is the best there is. The chicken is always incredibly moist and full of flavor!

What's Cooking In Mountain Mama's Kitchen
I have a very exciting weekend in the kitchen planned....what, that doesn't sound exciting to you? Well, if you're any sort of a foodie you'll understand what I mean.
I've been drooling over a few recipes out there in blog land, and have a number of things planned to create in my little country kitchen this weekend.

A Busy Weekend & More Zucchini Recipes!
It was another busy weekend around my little house, no doubt about it.
The garden was a mess of weeds and overgrown beds after all the rain we've had.
And the veggie garden was spitting out cucumbers like there's no tomorrow.

The Vegetable Garden In August
We have had a hot, sticky summer, which is very rare for us up here in the mountains.
I can't say I like it much....but my veggie garden sure does!

July 4th On The Mountain Top
It's been unbearably hot on the mountain top for the past 5 days. We are not used to this heat and humidity, especially not for extended periods like this.
