It's been a busy couple of weeks around my house with lots of decorating going on! As with many of yours, I'm sure - boy, there never seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done!!
But looking back I'm super happy with the way things turned out. I really had no idea how I was going to decorate this house for the holidays since it's my first Christmas here. And other than tweaking a few things here and there I'm quite contented with the end result!
I'll let the pictures do most of the talking here...
Like the rest of my home, it's hardly perfection....but it's perfect for me. A random selection of Christmas items collected over many years....with a few new pieces thrown in here and there.
My home has a lot of red accents already so it transitions easily into holiday mode.
The chandelier even got decked out with red shades for the season and I love the warmer look for the winter. It's all about the little things, you know?
I hope you all had a wonderfully productive weekend as well!

DeleteI love how warm, cozy, and delightfully happy your Christmas decorating is !
ReplyDeleteIt really is a busy time of the year and the decorating is work, but fun work and makes so many people happy.
I love your blog, thank-you for leaving a comment on mine allowing me to find you.
I was so happy to find your blog - those little fuzzy sheep are the cutest things ever!! Thanks for visiting me, Kathy!
DeleteI love all the red accents. You have decorated very nicely. I have to tell you, I love your art picture of the building. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susie - that was a gift from my two sisters for my 30th birthday, way back when....it's Thomas Kinkade's Bloomsbury Cafe. Thanks for visiting!!
DeleteEverything looks wonderful and whimsical! I adore those red shades on your chandy! Perfection? Shoot, I don't like perfection, I love to see a home that looks cozy and lived in. We'd have no fun at all if our homes were perfect, would we? I'm so glad I found your blog because I just love your style!
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Oh, Shelia, thank you so much for your sweet words - that means so much to me!! My home is very much lived in and will never ever be perfect....but I love it so much just the way it is!!
DeleteDebbie, I think your place always looks great. I am so happy for you, in your new home this Christmas, decorated and cozy! Enjoy every minute of the season! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks, Kim - you are so sweet!!
DeleteYour home is so festive! ♥ your decorating style. Did you paint the ice skates...adorable.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had that talent, Marigene, but definitely not!! My mom gave those to me a few years back - I love them!
Deleteso fun and festive, love those great painted skates!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra!! I love them also!
DeleteYour home looks so festive with all of your snowmen and Santas.
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful life!
It truly is, isn't it?
DeleteHow festive and pretty everything looks. I love your placemats and dish towel. I actually saw your decorative dish towel in a TJ Maxx advertisement and called the two stores in my area, to see if I could find one, but to no avail. I absolutely "love" your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh Phylis thank you soooooo much!!! I got the dishtowel recently on a trip to HomeGoods and as soon as I got it home I was regretting that I didn't pick up two!!
DeleteYou've got everything so cozy looking that I can't believe it's your first winter in your home! I love red accents year round, too, and it makes it easy to transition into Christmas decorating. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI moved in back in April, Vickie - technically it was spring but the day I moved in we had a terrible ice storm!! I guess that was my first taste of winter in my new home!
DeleteYour home is looking so cheerful, festive and welcoming for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly, Melanie!!
DeleteGORGEOUS! I wish it was my home haha

Jemma, you are such a honey!! xo
DeleteSo sweet and festive. Love all your pops of red. Your home is so cozy and inviting for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteKris
Thanks, Kris - it makes me smile when I look around at all the pops of color as the morning sun hits the front of the house!!
DeleteIt all looks very cozy and festive! :)
ReplyDeleteIt makes me happy, Deb, that's the truth!!

ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas holidays ~ FlowerLady
Thank you, Lorraine - it feels happy to me - even when I stumble out with sleepy eyes to get my coffee in the mornings!
DeleteYour home looks so festive and pretty for the season, but you got me laughing so hard with the Santa I can explain sign. HA! HA!
ReplyDeleteBut I CAN explain, Betty!!! :) You know, I picked that sign up for less than a dollar after Christmas last year - I can't even remember where but it was somewhere really bizarre like the hardware store or deli!!
DeleteYour decorations are so festive, I'm still smiling! I love snowmen, too!
ReplyDeleteMy snowman collection is much larger than I remember it being - oops!! I guess it grows a little each year!!
DeleteLove all of your decorations...so pretty and festive. "Dear Santa, I can explain"...that so sounds like me...LOL Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha and I bet you always have a REALLY good explanation, don't you, Benita? :)
Deletexo
Well, maybe Benita may have a good explanation, but I sure as hell don't ;).
ReplyDeleteEverything is adorable, but the Santa hats on the booze bottles are what truly made me smile. See :)
There's a new one since then - the Makers Mark bottle has a sweater and a pair of earmuffs!! :)
DeleteI love it all ... sparkly snowmen ... clever signs (do you really want to explain it all to Santa?) ... wine bottles dressed for the cold ...
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas
Ha ha - it makes me happy to see all that silly stuff in the mornings when the sun is shining in!!
